Help is Where the Heart is
By Samia Merritt
Help is where the heart is no matter where you come from
Give a little? Change? Alums for the poor?
Will you turn deaf or blind and ignore?
See, we’re apart by oceans and divided by lands
Remember divided we’ll fall, but together we’ll stand
Where’s brother? Here sister, I’ll take your hand
Help is where the heart is
Because you help with all your heart
And help with both hands
With a simple smile and embrace saying,
“Friend, I understand” we can all change the world
For that boy or this girl
So make a little change or go ahead and ignore,
But the future and present generations will be poor
Not from money, clothes or food,
But for the love we needed from you
Help is where the heart is
And it’s flowing through my veins
So I can help take the reins
And we can all use our brains, love will remain
It takes a village to raise a child, but the world makes the grown-up
Thrown up are my hands saying the world needs to own up
To stitch love in so our hearts can be sewn-up
This is a message so we all can get a clue
To help one another to let our light shine through
I don’t mean to attack, just sticking to the
Facts, relax, Help is in your heart
Help is where the heart is
